Our goats are raised with the same commitment to sustainability, ethical care, and environmental stewardship as our other livestock. With breeds such as Saanen, Boer, Kalahari, and Blackberry.
At Almat Livestock & Dairy, our goats are raised with the same commitment to sustainability, ethical care, and environmental stewardship as our other livestock. They graze freely on nutrient-rich pastures, enjoying a natural diet that promotes health, productivity, and wellbeing.

Our goat-rearing practices prioritize stress-free environments, proper nutrition, and careful breeding to ensure superior milk and meat quality. By integrating pasture-based systems, eco-friendly management, and attentive care, we produce goats that thrive naturally while supporting our mission of sustainable, regenerative farming.
The following are some of the goat breeds we raise for meat and milk:
Our Saanen goats, a Swiss breed, are renowned for their high milk yield, gentle temperament, and adaptability. They thrive on pasture-based diets and produce rich, creamy milk ideal for fresh consumption or dairy products. At Almat, we raise Saanens under free-range, ethical conditions to ensure their health and maximize their dairy potential.

The Kalahari goat is a hardy, heat-tolerant breed well-suited to the Nigerian climate. Known for their resilience, efficient grazing, and high-quality meat, Kalahari goats perform exceptionally in extensive farming systems. At Almat, they are integrated into our sustainable pastures, contributing to both meat production and the diversity of our livestock ecosystem.

Our Blackberry goats are prized for their adaptability, hardiness, and moderate milk production. They are well-suited to mixed grazing systems and thrive under low-stress, pasture-based management. Blackberry goats complement our herd by providing sustainable meat and dairy resources while maintaining genetic diversity.

The Boer goat is internationally recognized for its rapid growth, excellent carcass quality, and superior meat yield. At Almat, Boer goats are raised with care on nutrient-rich pastures, ensuring their robust development and premium meat production. Their hardiness and adaptability make them a cornerstone of our meat-focused breeding programme.

We produce Goat Milk from Saanen goats. Saanen goat milk is known for being a high-volume, low-fat product with a mild, neutral taste, making it ideal for fluid milk consumption and light cheeses. These Swiss goats are the highest milk-producing breed, averaging 1 to 3 gallons of milk per day, which contains approximately 3-4% butterfat and about 3.2% protein. The milk's protein structure and natural homogenization make it easier for many people to digest than cow's milk.
